Set and Forget Blogs
I have always used blogs to drive lots of web traffic to my web sites. Nothing is as effective in this aspect as a frequently updated blog with relevant material. It seams like blogs has much easier to be indexed by the search engines than ordinary web sites. The only problem is that it’s a hell of a job to frequently update a blog, normally once or twice a day with unique relevant material in order to get the traffic.
Fortunately there is an easy way to do this. RSS feeds are the answer. It’s very important that you fill your blog with unique relevant material so using RSS feeds that supply you with other peoples already used material may seam awkward, but it works. The secret is that you have to find a number of feeds with relevant articles, news feeds work extremely well, that supply your blog with articles to appear at your blog as snippets of text with a link to the article. It’s most unlikely that the combination of snippets on your blog matches any other blog. This makes your blog content unique. This has worked fine on my blogs so far and I hope it will do for long time to come.
When you update your blog it’s very important that you let everyone know about it and if you continue to read I will let you in on the secret in just a few seconds.
I learned this from a very well known Internet marketer J. P. Schoeffel who has developed a suit of three Word Press Plugins to do all the work for you. The first one is the WP RSS Aggregator that automatically publishes the news feeds on your blog. The second one he calls WP SocializeIt Pro, and it makes sure that 30 Social Network Sites automatically get to know about your blog post. In addition to that I have set up my blogs to automatically ping pingomatic.com and pingoat.com. They in turn ping enough important sites to spread the word. I don’t use the third Plugin on all these traffic driving blogs, but I use it a lot in other blogs. J.P. calls it WP Periodic Poster and it’s good if you have a lot of blog posts you want to set up for automatic posting to your blog over time.
The use of Set and Forget Blogs have dramatically increased the traffic to my sites since the blogs quickly pick up web traffic and have strategic links to the sites I want to have traffic to.
